Our story
We are teenagers and young adults who build real bamboo homes for families living in extreme poverty in Ecuador — and in the process, we build ourselves.
Everything started with the 7.8 earthquake in 2016. The coast of Ecuador was destroyed, and Fundación Raíz-CAEMBA stepped in, building strong, beautiful bamboo homes for families who lost everything.
A few years later, a teenager named Daniel discovered CAEMBA. He saw the houses, met the families, and knew right away: this was bigger than watching from the sidelines. He decided youth had to lead the next chapter. That’s when CAEMBA Youth was born — a movement of young people who teamed up with Raíz-CAEMBA to keep building homes, changing lives, and showing the world that age means nothing when you have purpose.
